In 2017, we're bringing the festival to nyc area hospitals!

In 2017, New York International Children’s Film Festival is proud to pilot a program that will bring vital artistic experiences to children staying in local NYC hospitals. Through the NYICFF Cares Program, children undergoing hospital treatments on both a short-term and long-term basis will engage in the film festival experience through tailored programs that provide a needed break from the often tedious hospital schedule.

The NYICFF Cares Program will present the full Festival experience with a curated short film program that showcases diverse, profound, uplifting, and entertaining selections from the Festival’s extensive archive. The program will include voting ballots for all attendees, and each screening will be followed by a talk-back session with Festival staff so that children can discuss content seen on screen.

Our current plans with hospitals will allow us to engage 400 patients in this pilot year. We are eager to move forward, but as a non-profit need the necessary funding to cover hard costs and operating expenses to execute the program. We hope you will consider making a 100% tax-deductible donation toward our goal of raising $15,000 for the pilot program and help us bring these fundamental experiences to a deserving audience.

Activities that both entertain and allow patients to engage with peers and adults outside of daily treatment schedules can have a profound impact on recovery and overall quality of life. Please consider supporting this vital initiative.
